In June of this year, LPRFC was pleased to announce our new business partnership with Sterch's Tavern (2238 N. Lincoln). Through the genorosity of many current and recently retired players, the club is now a part owner of this bar, our latest effort to improve both the club experience and quality of play during your time as a club member.
We envision this investment as an important step in improving our recruiting efforts and club finances. More players and a better financial standing will allow us to purchase more up-to-date training equipment, access to better fields and additional travel assistance to tournaments and playoff games.
More importantly, it's an effort to bring all generations of Lincoln Park players together. We want club alumni, both recent and not so recent, to make this our club house. Come join us on a random weekend when you'd like a drink, stop by post-match parties for the third halfand nobody has to know you didn't play the first two. Or, come in to watch sports - especially international rugby which we will now be featuring at the bar.
It is not too late to put your mark on this exciting opportunity. We hope that each of you might join the LPRFC Supporters Club, with a contribution of $250. In addition to a warm fuzzy feeling that you have helped your club, you get:
- Your name, playing years and nickname on the "Founders' Wall", alongside the club aumni who financed this venture.
- The privelege of drinking out of a Lincoln Park RFC beer stein when you visit (you know how much you value an extra 6oz of beer for your money).
- A Lincoln Park beer mug of your own to keep at home, put on your desk, or use to catch grease drippings under your grill.
- The right to act like a jerk and have other guys in the bar back you up.
Come join the club again.
